The Kind of Bite I Like

Bottle of Captain Morgan Lime Bite.

Have you tried Captain Morgan Lime Bite?  I love lime flavored coke and I remember having this a few year ago on the regular in the summer time.   I bought a new bottle recently because I was craving it with the homemade Chipotle bowl my sister made and boy did it pair up perfectly!  The Lime is not over powering and the rum is very smooth.  This is a perfect summer rum but it is also perfect if it is cold out and you want to pretend summer is here!  Captain Morgan Lime Bite is also very affordable so if you fall in love with it, don't worry another bottle is at your liquor store waiting for you to come pick it up.  Hmm, I wonder what this would taste like in a Mojito?  Check out some other flavors brought to you by Captain Morgan at http://www.captainmorgan.com.

The Taste: Tuesday at 8|7c on ABC

I used to be obsessed with cooking shows and cooking competition shows.  Now they all tend to be the same and have lost their appeal.  I started watching The Taste because it is  “The Voice” of cooking!  You don’t pick a team based on looks, profession or experience, you pick them based on a blind tasting.  There are four well known chefs that lead each team.
Anthony Bourdain
Nigella Lawson
Brian Malarkey
Ludo Lefebvre (My Favorite!)

Teams of 4 are picked based only on a spoon full of food the chefs taste and they lock in a decision of if they want that food on their team.  After all decision are locked in and non-reversible, they meet the person behind the spoon and they either are happy they picked them, or they are upset they let them go.  This is based on if the person is a professional chef or home cook, not based on looks.  It is a good concept although one Chef, Anthony Bourdain, can pick out the professional chefs easily from the home chefs.

Each of the four chefs, have 4 contestants on their team.  There are two cooking challengers per episode.  For the first challenge it is all about impressing a special outside judge.  All the team members on each team cook a meal in a spoon based on the challenge at hand, and then the Chef judges pick which spoon is the best on their team and present it to the special outside judge.  That outside judge picks his favorite of the 4 spoons and the winner gets immunity for the elimination challenge.

For the elimination challenge, each contestant prepares a dish based on some aspect of the previous immunity challenge and the 4 chef judges have no idea who cooked what as they do a blind tasting.  They then choose their favorite dish and their least favorite dish.  This could either help or hurt their team and there have definitely been some chefs who have chosen their team member as the losing dish.  That is what makes it fun!  Does this sound like something that interests you?  I wasn’t sure at first but it is a jammed pack hour of good competition and in the end someone goes home with a lot more money than they came in with!

I do not want to give the show away if you have not seen it, but I have seen every episode so far and I love the challenges and I love the fact that they can send their own team home based on if they like their food or not.  This show has some appeal and it is worth checking out!  If you are interested, you should check out the latest show so you can catch up on all of the fun!  http://abc.tv/Z3jimp.
Watch it and tell me what you think!  I totally recommend it!  :o)

Maxi Hair By Country Life

I received Maxi-Hair by Country Life in my Naturals Voxbox from Influenster.  Click HERE to learn more about Influenster and their program.  You receive complimentary products to sample, review and share via social network.  I really enjoy this program because I love to learn about different products and I enjoy discussing and reviewing  all things!  There is work involved so DO NOT think you will be getting items for free for nothing.  You have to be dedicated this just as you are dedicated to your work and other hobbies!  It is very fun!  Now to get to the product of topic!

So, when I was in college I developed a scalp infection that cause me to lose a lot of my hair, so I am always trying to find ways to strengthen, thicken and regrow my hair.  I was very eager to try Maxi-Hair by Country life.  It is a multiVitamin that focuses on hair skin and nails.  I have used these types of vitamins in the past from different brands and they work well so I was boosted to receive the opportunity to try this this brand.  It was one of the samples I received to review in my Naturals Voxbox from Influenster.  I will say that so far, regarding my hair, I haven't seen much difference but I have seen less breakage when I comb it.  As far as my skin goes, I haven't had any break outs and my skin seems to be a bit smoother and clearer. It is also less oily.  The most drastic changes I have seen have been with my nails so I have some photos to show you.

These are my nails, a few days into using Maxi-Hair.  Sorry they are yellow, I wear nail polish everyday so they are stained!  They were already long and they gained some strength:

Shortly after I took those photos, I cut my nails almost all the way to the skin.  I wanted to see how long they would grow.  Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of them at that stage.

A week after I cut them really short, they grew back a lot.  See the pictures below

Below are pictures I took of my names today 10/12/12 a week and a half after I took the above photos:

As you can see, these Vitamins are really helping my nails grow and I cant wait until they are back at the length of the first two photos.  That should really just be another week!  Overall, I would give MaxiHair MultiVitamins by Country Life an A!

Naturals Voxbox

I want to share with the you the complimentary samples I received from Influenster, a site devoted to getting the word out about note worthy products on the market.  Influenster sends you products for you to sample, review and then share via social media outlets.  I love this program as it gives me the opportunity to share my opinions with the world!

So recently, I received the Naturals Voxbox.  I received this voxbox because I have expressed interest on the site about eco-friendly natural products.  I earned the eco-friendly badge by taking a small survey that discussed  how I recycle in my daily life and environmentally friendly products I use...etc.  Writing reviews for natural products probably helped as well.  It really is that simple.

Here is a picture of the items I received in my Naturals Voxbox.

Another shot of my Influenster Natural Voxbox.

I couldn't wait to test out all of these products.

I will start with The Original Dish Drying Mat.  I do most of the dishes in my house house so I found this product to be particularly useful.  It really absorbs the moisture from your dishes and it is very soft.  The only thing that would make this mat better is if I had a larger one to place more dishes on!  It's a good thing you can find n XL version on their website HERE which by the way I will be purchasing very soon!

Dish Drying Mat

Next up we have the Clean Well hand Sanitizing Wipe!  This is very practical.  What happens when you are on the go and you can't find anywhere to wash your hands before you dig into that meal you just purchased off of a food truck or something similar?  Well, if you were me you would pull out your trusty CleanWell Hand Sanitizing wipe that you easily slipped in your purse because it is so convenient!  This product has a clean smell and left my hands feeling very fresh after using it.  Check out more of their products on the website HERE

I love this Clean Well Sanitizing wipe. Everyone knows I am a germ freak so these single packs fit anywhere and come in handy!
Moving on to EBoost.  Wow!  So, I used this Eboost Natural Orange not to long ago when I was feeling a bit under the weather.  They always say Vitamin C is the best thing to take to keep your immune system up.  This worked almost instantly for me.  I felt better through the day and Nothing developed into an actual cold.  I am sold on this product as it provided me enough energy to get me through the work day so I could go home and sleep my symptoms off!  See what else they have to offer on their website, HERE.

Eboost, Daily Health Booster. If you want to stay awake at work, this is the healthy way to go!

Okay so, I want to move on the Geodeo.  This is one of the products that I was most looking forward to.  Unfortunately, this product was not made for me.  I see this product working well for people with normal perspiration but for someone like me who suffers from anxiety, it did not work out so well.  I love the scent of the product.  I also love how fresh and light the product is.  It does not weigh you down or leave clumps under your arms.  I cannot say this product does not work because I think it will work well for most people! It just didn't work out so well for me.  HERE is a link to their website so you can check out this and other products they have to offer.

I think geodeo will work well for some folks, but not everyone.

So, are you trying to step away from artificial sweeteners like I am?  I have been drinking my coffee with Sugar in the Raw for the past several months.  Well, I received Nectresse in my Naturals Voxbox and it is a sweetener that is made from Monk Fruit. what I like about Nectresse is, you get a very subtle fruity flavor.  I tried this is my coffee and it is very sweet.  A little goes a long way, in a very good way for me.  I will be purchasing this in the near future.  Check out their website, HERE.

Nectresse is good for those of us who like things a little less sweet.

I am someone who loves to use lip gloss and lip moisturizers so when I received Lypsyl in my Naturals Voxbox, I was very excited.  I had never heard of Lypsyl before, but I will not forget it anytime soon! I put this on at night before bed and it leaves my lips feeling moist through the night and the following day.  You do not get that very often so I was very pleased with this product.  It is natural and the container is very cute.  a little Bee to slide up and down the side!  Check Lypsyl out, HERE!  I think I will purchase the Honey Berry Lypsyl next!

Lypsyl Lyp Moisturizer!!!

Last but certainly not least, Maxi Hair, Multi-Vitamins!  This is a product that enhances your hair's strength, skin's appearance and nails strength and length.  Maxi-Hair is a Multi-Vitamin made by Country life.  It has a high amount of Biotin (aids in hair regrowth, skin appearance and nail strength  and it is Gluten Free!  I see the most difference in my nails!  I will be creating a seperate post for this that goes into Maxi Hair more deeply, but check out the website from Country life HERE, they have all kinds of Vitamins!  I will totally be purchasing more of the Maxi Hair Vitamins, I am on my last few!

The pills are really big, but Country Maxi-Hair really works!

Overall, I am very pleased with my Naturals Voxbox and I enjoyed writing reviews on influenster's website.  I sent out some tweets (Follow me @remierem), and created a pinterest board, HERE.  I Shared these items on my facebook and I look forward to receiving my Voxboxes in the future and writing/sharing more reviews.

If you are interested in joining Influenster, check out the website, HERE and send me an email so I can invite you!

Influenster's Revamp!

Influenster has recently undergone a website makeover.  If you are not familiar with Influenster, let me give you a brief overview.  Influenster is a website that is devoted to reviews of many different products.  The best way to learn and share information about new products on the market is to sample and review them.  What Influenster does is provide you with a way to earn badges based on your interests and your lifestyle.

Here are some examples of badges which you receive after taking a brief survey pertaining to the badge:

  Fashionista badgeFashionista                Gamer badgeGamer
Sweet tooth badgeSweet Tooth            Bow-wow badgeBow-Wow

Once you've earned a badge you may be selected for a unique opportunity to receive what they call a Voxbox.  A Voxbox is basically a themed box of complimentary samples for you to test out, review on their website and share/provide feedback via social media outlets your thoughts about the products you receive.  So far I have received two Voxboxes.  I have received the Love Voxbox which came out around Valentine's Day and focused on products you would associate with love and the Naturals Voxbox which came out recently in September and focused on natural and organic products.  I will be following this blog post up with some posts about the Naturals Voxbox.

Below are photos of both the Love Voxbox I received and the Naturals Voxbox that I received.  This is so you can get an idea of the sample sizes and the types of items you may receive.  A lot of them are full size complimentary samples!

I recommend giving this website a try.  If you want to check it out you can visit it HERE but it is invitation only so feel free to contact me if you are interested!  You get several opportunities to earn badges, gain a higher Influenster score, and create reviews.  They have many more Voxbox programs instore for the remainder of 2012 so it is not too late.  I am sure there will be plenty next year as well.  If I were you, I would head there now and start reviewing.  You will not be disappointed!

Okay this is long over due.  First I am really going to make an effort to maintain this blog.  Maybe I will start out weekly to get into the swing of things but, I realize that I am really into creating reviews thanks to a website called Influenster and that is giving me the motivation to take another crack at this.  I have so many photos of polishes I need to go back and post.  I am thinking about doing a few nail spam posts to get all of the old ones out the way until I get to daily postings!  Also, I have read several books lately and I need need need to share my thoughts about them.  Without further ado, I am going to create my first post in several months and of course it will be about Influenster!

Wishlist

I have several wishlists that I am in the process of creating.  Now if only I could figure out how to post them!  :o)

I have a book wishlist, polish wishlist, restaurant wishlist...etc.  This blogging thing takes a lot of work.  I now appreciate those who do this full time, or along with a fulltime job!
